If you want to write a song about the moon
Walk along the craters of the afternoon
When the shadows are deep and the light is alien
And gravity leaps like a knife off the pavement
If you want to write a song about the moon
If you want to write a spiritual tune
Then nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Presto, a song about the moon
~Paul Simon
Hi writers! Just a quick writing prompt for this week: Write about the moon! You can take this in any direction you want: Write about gravity, or the tides, or space travel, or kissing under the moonlight—wherever your fancy takes you. And, as always, feel free to write in any form: Poem, short story, creative non-fiction, or anything else you can imagine. A persuasive essay? Sure, why not? Google Maps directions to the moon from your childhood home? Go for it!
We’ll meet back here on Monday to share our work. Can’t wait to see what you create!
Love,
Jessica
