Still on pause
Hi writers! Just a quick note that this Substack is still on pause indefinitely until we figure out what’s going on here—I mean till I find a way to increase subscriptions enough to make it a more meaningful experience for everyone. I am sort of in suspended animation, waiting to see what is going on with social media, if it will ever be possible for me to continue growing on there like I did from 2016-2022, and, honestly, whether I would even want to do platform building in the same way again. Not just this Substack, but my entire writing career hinges on these questions. But for now I’m just enjoying the pause, leaning into other areas of creativity and connection like the weird painting above and singing songs like this:
