Hi writers!
I didn’t get a chance to post a writing prompt last Friday, so I thought I would do a free-write prompt today. That means that you set a timer (it can be for twenty minutes, half an hour, forty-five minutes, or whatever you can spare) and write about whatever comes to mind. A free write is the opportunity to access a less intentional, more subconscious part of your mind, to let the ideas flow without worrying about planning or mapping out an outline. I often find that I can write in more creative or profound ways when I let the words tumble out without overthinking them.
You can write about whatever comes to mind, but if you need a specific prompt to get going, you can use this quote from a letter written by Sigmund Freud: “How bold one gets when one is sure of being loved,” and answer it like a question: “How bold would I be if I was sure of being loved?”
You can share your free-write below, or anything else you’ve been working on! Here’s the little spiel about giving and receiving feedback:
Feedback posts and comments are behind a paywall to protect your privacy and support my work, but everyone who subscribes gets a free month’s upgrade to paid benefits so you can check out the space and see if it’s a good fit for you. And if you ever need more than a month, please just let me know. I don’t want anyone to be unable to participate because of finances.
