Hello writers!
This weekend I wrote a longer post about my plans for the Finding Your Voice workshops and community, so today I’m going to babble less and get right to the prompt:
Write about hope deferred. Write a true story, or a short fiction piece, or a poem, about someone who wanted something so badly, but did not get it. It can be a lost love, or a job, or fame and fortune. It can be trying out for a play or a sports team and not getting in, or applying to rent or buy the house of your dreams. Explore the idea of hope and desire, and the feeling of let down when you don’t receive something you desire. Does hope deferred maketh the heart sick, as the proverb says? Or is it worth it, to have had hope, and had a beautiful dream, even if it did not come true in the end?
See you back here on Friday to share what we wrote!
